The one system you need to build a successful creative business

This is the most important system to build in your design business and if you don’t have it in place, it’s the point where everything will break.

You’ve got a design system right?

Collect ideas - get inspiration - research - interview - ideate - sketch - compare - vector - mock up - package up - rollout.

If you’re good you’ve got a sales system too

Market - outreach - generate a lead - qualify - diagnose - present solution - close - onboard.

But what about a system for your mind.

This is where frames come in.

And it’s slightly different.

Because it’s not always going to be in the same order - things aren’t going to happen sequentially they’re going to be random, coming at ya #mightyboosh from all sides and you’re gonna need a system for managing them.

A frame is how you process an input.

Input = client turns out to be a nightmare and doesn’t pay.

Frame = what did I learn from this? What part of my process can I improve next time?

Input = my biggest client just left me.

Frame = now I’ve got to pull finger and have space in my head to work on my outreach and marketing systems so this problem doesn’t’ happen again.

If you don’t have a Mind system like this of frames - you’ll encounter these challenges and immediately want to give up.

These seven ideas have helped me through dips in business, COVID, sickness, bad client experiences, and rejection.

How you manage your experience and how you perceive something that happens - the way in which you frame it in your mind will make or break your creative business.

Make sure you’ve got the right frames ready to go so this won’t happen to you.

If you do, you’ll outlast the rest, and enjoy your experience as a business owner a hell of a lot more along the way.
