“We already have XYZ so can you just fix it up for us?”

How to approach a client who has something crappy for you to fix 👇

My mate’s mum made me this logo.

Can you just change the font? Help me edit the colors?

I built this website myself, can you just tweak it for me so it has better SEO?

It’s tricky when the potential client thinks they know what they want.

But you know different.

They think you can just fix it.

But you know it won’t do them justice.

You can’t tell them straight up - it looks crappy.

And then push a new build, full rebrand, full package on them.

So what’s the best approach?

The best approach is making them feel heard and getting your foot in the door.

Getting them to buy into the sales conversation you’re going to unleash on them.

Sometimes you just can’t polish a turd.

Mostly they need a cure not a quick fix or a band aid.

Here’s what I say to move the client from “I know what I want how much” to

“I’m open to hearing what you think I need”.

(cause nine times out of ten, you know better than the client the best solution right?)
